About Us

Farmers Development Organization was established in 1996 as a not for profit and non-governmental public interest organization and "A company setup under section 42 of companies’ ordinance 1984".


FDO is working in Saraiki Region (Southern Punjab), through participatory principles, benefitting hundreds of peasants, women and general communities in the fields of Livelihood, Institutional Development, Emergency Relief, Community Physical Infrastructure, Preventing gender based violence and promoting access to justice. The organization has a successful history in designing projects, subsequently through conducting the assessments of community problems, creating and engaging the local volunteers for implementing and monitoring the projects.

The Farmers Development Organization (FDO) distributed in-kind support to lead farmers under the "She Feeds the World" project. The Director of Crop Reporting Vehari, Umar Bashir, distributed items such as biological fertilizers, phosphorus fertilizers, eco sprays, flu green liquid, magnifying glasses, and soil meters. He also discussed the usage and benefits of these items.

The Farmers Development Organization (FDO) team Organized a Exposure visit at PARC and National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), where She Feeds the World project (SFtW) teams from District Okara and District Vehari had the opportunity to spend time with the KOPIA project team, a joint venture between Pakistan and Korea. It was a remarkable experience in which the project teams observed how the KOPIA project is ensuring its research to improve potato production, aiming to increase seed production, reduce dependency on others and assist farmers by providing certified seeds.

The Farmers Development Organization (FDO) , with the financial support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), has successfully completed the first phase of their 3-Days capacity-building training in District Bahawalpur. This training focused on social mobilization, health, and education, equipping CRPs and FDO Social Mobilization Staff with the essential tools to effectively implement the Restoring Social Services and Climate Resilience (RSS&CR) project. By strengthening their skills and knowledge, FDO staff and CRPs are now better equipped to engage with communities in community organizations formation, address local needs, and promote sustainable development.
