SAHAR

SAHR (Society for the Advancement of Human Rights) is a human rights organization founded in 2004 that focuses on advocating for and preserving human rights in Pakistan, particularly in the areas of women, child, and labor rights. They enhance the capacity of local organizations that uplift vulnerable groups and raise public awareness about issues surrounding poverty and human rights. Their mission includes promoting the implementation of internationally adopted norms, cooperating with national and international groups, organizations, and individuals engaged in the promotion of human rights, and taking appropriate action to prevent violations of human rights and providing legal aid and assistance to victims. They operate nationwide, with a focus on the districts of Punjab, and aim to strengthen the capacity of government and nongovernmental organizations to address human rights violations. SAHR is legally registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agency Ordinance of 1961 and aims to work towards the preservation and advocacy of human rights in Pakistan.
