Theme-IV: Disaster Risk Reduction for Building Resilience among Local Communities (DRR)

  Geographical Coverage : 2 UC of District Dera Ghazi Khan & 2 UC of District Bahawalpur Punjab Pakistan Project duration : May 2024-April 2026 Introduction and Background of program: Farmers Development Organization in Collaboration with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Foundation is implementing the restoring social service and climate resilience project in 2 UC of District Dera Ghazi Khan and 2 UC of District Bahawalpur to restore access to social services, strengthen resilience of disaster prone rural communities and promote climate resilient livelihoods practices. Key highlight of project:

  • Restoring social services (health, education, water & sanitation)
  • Improving access to climate-resilient critical community infrastructure (flood protection works)
  • Promoting climate-resilient livelihoods practices (restoration of damaged irrigation channels)
  • Building capacity of communities, school staff, health center staff, and local governments on climate-resilient planning and development
  • Gender mainstreaming and promoting women's participation and leadership
