Theme-IV: Disaster Risk Reduction for Building Resilience among Local Communities (DRR)

Geographical Coverage: District Rajanpur Programme Duration: 2022 About the Project: Punjab District Rajanpur 2022 With a vision “Reduced vulnerabilities caused due to flood, related with nutrition, shelter and WASH in f lood-affected targeted communities” Farmers Development Organization with financial support of Welthungerhilfe (WHH) implemented a short period project to address the immediate needs of flood affected communities of district Rajanpur.   Main objectives of the project were:

  • Increased provision to and use of sustainable/ consumable non-food items
  • Enhanced safe health and hygiene knowledge and practices in target HHs
  • Increased food availability across one quarter of targeted HHs
Key Highlights under Project:
  • 150 HHs received cash grants for food assistance
  • 150 HHs received NFI kits including items of shelter, gender sensitive health and hygiene material, etc.
  • 4 types of messages on how to be safe from flood, Health, and Hygiene, how to make water safe for drinking, and safety from Daingee were displayed at 1000 different places and targeted communities were given session
