Introduction/ background of Project:
Farmers Development Organization is smoothly running this project with financial and technical support of Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability (TDEA). During its tenure, this project not only aims to expand the existing network of Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) at the Tehsil level in Multan and Sahiwal regions comprising six Districts i.e., Multan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan at tehsil level in targeted districts but it has done the same in an absolute way along with the capacity building of the tehsil member organization, observation of local bodies and by-elections through network member organization, enhancement of voter turnout, the inclusion of women in the electoral and political process, strategize to increase women voters along with ECP and NADRA, capacity building of political parties and media on election process and reporting.
Key Highlights of the Projects are:
- 5 times election observations made at PP206, PP209 District Khanewal, PP 217 District Multan, NA 157 Multan, PP224 and PP228, District Lodhran, PP 202 District Sahiwal.
- 3 Meeting of the Regional Network was conducted in which 18 Tehsil network members participated.
- Beneficiaries directly reached during July 2021-June 2022 are 142 among which are Males 73 and 69 Females.
