Geographical Coverage: Muzafargarh Project Duration: March 2022- April 2023 Introduction/ Background of Project: Though safe drinking water is a basic right of everyone but it is not available everywhere. To avail safe drinking water people have to long travel to fetch it from different sources. To ensure the provision of safe drinking water to the masses FDO started implementing this project as a concept of social enterprise on a pilot basis by following Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode with the financial and technical support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Funds. In this project, the already constructed but dysfunctional water supply schemes will be rehabilitated with the aims to:

  • Reduce electricity billing cost to operationalize the WSS by at least 50% due to conversion into a solar power source.
  • Ensure accessibility of safe drinking water supply in the target area to 100% HHs.
  • Improved health and hygiene condition of HHs who are availing the opportunity of safe drinking water, especially kids and women.
  • An increase in the number of water connections will result in a reduction in Households' billing costs
  • With the rehabilitation of 3 schemes, under this project, FDO aims to benefit 6559 beneficiaries.
