Geographical Coverage: Multan Project Duration: January 2020  toSeptember 2021 Introduction/ Background of Project: According to NDMA ranking, Multan is one of the districts where the local community has to confront catastrophic damages caused by flash floods on an almost yearly basis. These heavy floods of severe intensity cause severe damage to public property their dwelling, livestock, and small businesses. To reduce these damages caused by flood, FDO started this project within collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and National Disaster Risk Management Fund aiming to majorly benefit people living near rivers, having a small piece of land, with improper employment, and living below the poverty line, the malnourished community mainly females and community whose socio-economic life is severely disturbed in targeted union councils. BRDCC project has not only increased institutional capacities for preparedness to disasters and climatic shocks across 2 Union Councils in the selected district but has also increased resilience of target communities through the development of relevant community infrastructure for flood disasters mitigation.
