Theme-I: Improving Economic and Social Wellbeing of the Poor through Equitable Measures (SLED)

Introduction/ Background: The Project Apna Rozgar is made possible by the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The implementation is the sole responsibility of the Farmers Development Organization and does not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government. Farmers Development Organization is supporting 190 women through the provision of productive business toolkits after imparting them entrepreneurial training and linking them with the market. Objectives:

  • To improve the livelihood of 190 women belonging to 13 UCs of District Khanewal in a 06-month period by:
  • Providing training in business development to those women who already stand trained in the trades of Tailoring, Adda Work & Hand Embroidery.
  • Giving them required tool kits, and creating for them opportunities for income generation.
Target Area: In district Khanewal and 13 Union Councils of Tehsils Khanewal, Mian channu, Jahanian & Kabirwala. Key Interventions/ Achievements:
  • 190 tool kits  i.e, Tailoring (10), Embroidery (95) and Adda Work (85) tool kits provided to beneficiaries.
  • 6 days long non-residential training in Enterprise Development & Management were Organized for women.
  • Business Developing plan were developed for 190 trainees.
  • Linking a trained workforce with “SEEP” a social enterprise based in Multan and to provide business and guidance to the trainees.
  • Linking trained workforce with Boutiques and Garments Shops in Khanewal.
  •  Organized 02-day Meena Bazar with the collaboration of SEEP.
  • Arrangged  a Project opending & Closing Ceremony at Khanewal
