Strengthening the Ecosystem of Support Against Violent Extremism in South Punjab (PSCP)
Theme-II: Strengthening Peace and Democratic Governance (P&DG)
Geographical Coverage: Multan & Bahwalpur Project Duration: January 2024- August 2025 Introduction/ Background of Programme: PSCP project goal is to "strengthen the eco-system of support against violent extremism through engaging at-risk youth, communities, and women in South Punjab". To achieve this goal, TAF will work with al-risk youth, local communities, key civil society stakeholders, and selected union council in five districts: Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Jhang and Muzaffargarh, of which FDO will be responsible for the. Districts Multan and District Bahawalpur. The project will engage, sensitize and capacitate local government officials, provincial departments, madrassas, formal/informal education institutions, and policy institution long to strengthen the support ecosystem around at-risk youth and their respective communities. Key Objectives:
- Strengthen the capacity of local communities to ensure effective implementation of locally driven P/CVE actions;
- Strengthen policy reform and dialogue on countering violence extremism
- Improve strategic mechanisms among government and civil society actors to promote counter-narratives to violent extremism at educational institutions.
